It's Almost Time

The big day is finally almost here!

I've been collecting coupons for about a month now, give or take.

This week will be the first weekly grocery shop that I will do, by myself, with my coupons. I'm waiting until Thursday for the flyers, I have a spreadsheet ready to calculate my total before I even step foot into the grocery store, and I have a menu ready for the week.

Now, all I need is payday to come!

Today was a fantastic mail day, too. I received 6 evelopes of coupons, most of them very useful for me, some of them good for trades. In fact, I have an entire binder full now. I'm going to be making up a list of coupons available for trade to post here hopefully sometime this week.

I'm very excited about this upcoming shopping trip. Generally, groceries cost us about $300-350 every two weeks, so about $175/week. My goal is to come out of the grocery store on Friday with enough food and snacks for the week, for no more than $150. It's not a great savings, but it's a start. If I can do better, then I'll be over the moon happy.

Ultimately, I want to get our groceries down to around $100/week or less. That way, we have some extra left over for bills or the $6000 braces we just found out our son needs. Yikes!

So, wish me luck! I'll defintely be back with my total one week shopping bill, whether the news is good or bad. I'm hoping good! :)
